Flex01A uses two 8 bit analog to digital converter (ADC) to digitize two channels of analog signal. A digital correlator engine calculates auto or cross correlation function.

Correlation specifications:

  1. Allowable sample time: 1/60 ms, 1/30 ms, 1/15 ms, and in 1/15 ms increment thereafter.
  2. Auto or cross correlation. (channel A, or channel A cross correlates with channel B)
  3. Total number of data points: 1025
  4. Shift register width: 8.
  5. Data processing rate: 480 million operations per second. 100% real time efficiency at sample times >= 2.1333 ms.  The data processing efficiency depends on the sample times and the correlation time of the signal at sample times < 2.1333 ms.

Hardware Specifications:

  1. Electrical interface: AC coupled
  2. Input range: 1 V peak to peak.
  3. Bandwidth: 100 Hz to 30 MHz.
  4. Physical dimensions: 2.5"x2.75"x0.8".
  5. Maximum power consumption: 1.5W

System requirements:

  1. A personal computer with a USB connections
  2. Pentium class CPU, 32 MB RAM, Windows 98/2000/ME operating system.
  3. Don’t run other high speed USB devices that requires high bandwidth simultaneously with Flex01A or interference may occur.

Software:

The software displays the correlation function, FFT of the correlation function (power spectrum), and 512 sample of the two signal (trace) are displayed in real time.  The following is a sample screen where the input channel A is a sine function at 100 Khz.   The data is saved in ASCII format.
